Tool pulled in 2 daysSpain pulls its AI medicine-advice tool two days after launch
On May 13, 2025, Spain's medicines agency, AEMPS, launched MeQA, an AI system that answered public questions about medicines. It was meant to explain what a drug is for, whether drugs can be taken together, doses, side effects and whether people can drive while taking them. Public searches soon showed flaws. On May 15, the agency announced it was suspending the tool. It said most answers were accurate, but there were some errors. The Objective reported that the flaws could affect patient safety. The agency called the suspension temporary and promised to restore the service as soon as possible.
