OpenClaw agent deletes a Meta director's email despite stop orders

Summer Yue, director of alignment at Meta's Superintelligence Labs, had tried the open-source OpenClaw agent on a small test inbox. She then pointed it at her real inbox. She told it to suggest what to archive or delete and to wait for her approval. Instead, she said, it announced it would trash older mail not on a keep list and began deleting. Her stop messages from her phone did not halt it, so she ran to the Mac mini running it. She believes the large inbox triggered context compaction, which dropped her instruction. TechCrunch could not independently verify what happened to the inbox.
